Is YarnArt Intense Linen 100% linen?

No. YarnArt Intense Linen is 45% linen and 55% viscose. The linen brings the cool, dry hand and slightly rustic look, while the viscose adds weight, drape and a softer feel, so the fabric is less stiff than pure linen from the first wear. Each 50 g ball holds 175 m of sport-weight yarn.

Can you crochet with Intense Linen?

Yes. Linen-viscose has almost no stretch, so crochet stitches stay crisp and open patterns such as mesh, shells and filet hold their shape well in summer tops, shawls and market bags. Start around 2.5–3 mm and swatch: if the fabric feels stiff, go up half a size. A rounded hook tip helps keep the plies together.

How many balls of Intense Linen do I need for a summer top?

Plan on about 4–6 balls. A short-sleeved or sleeveless top in sport-weight yarn typically takes 700–1,000 m depending on size and stitch, and each 50 g ball has 175 m. Lace and openwork use less than solid stockinette; for a longer tunic or sleeves, add one or two more balls from the same dye lot.

Intense Linen is the finer, higher-linen yarn: 45% linen and 55% viscose, 175 m per 50 g, with a smooth, even strand. YarnArt Linen Soft mixes 30% linen with cotton and viscose, 272 m per 100 g, in a thick-and-thin slub strand for 4 mm tools. Choose Intense Linen for fluid, fine tops and Linen Soft for quicker, textured knits.
